Question 1

What is Xtermicon?

Accepted Answer

Xtermicon is a family-owned pest control company serving Southern California since 2015 — the name is short for eXterminate TERmites & pest CONtrol. We specialize in termite control, general pest control, and rodent exclusion.

Question 2

What does Xtermicon do?

Accepted Answer

Xtermicon offers year-round pest control services for a range of insects and invasive species, including ants, spiders, roaches, silverfish, rodents (mice and rats), termites, and seasonal stinging insects.

Question 3

What areas do you service?

Accepted Answer

We proudly serve communities across Southern California, including West LA, East LA, the beach cities, Orange County, and beyond. We're the local choice for Southern California families.

Question 4

What pests do you treat?

Accepted Answer

We handle a wide range of common local pests including ants, spiders, roaches, silverfish, rodents (mice and rats), termites, and seasonal stinging insects.

Question 5

Are your products safe for children and pets?

Accepted Answer

Please let us know if you have little ones or pets at home - we prioritize you and your family's health. It is important to remove toys/blankets/pet food/water bowls from areas prior to treatment, keep children and pets off treated surfaces until they are 100% dry, and ventilate rooms after indoor sprays have been applied. We follow all regulatory guidelines but want to operate with an abundance of caution to protect more vulnerable clients.

Question 6

Where should my pet be during treatment?

Accepted Answer

Please secure all pets prior to the appointment in an area outside the treatment zone. Our Service Professionals will not enter the enclosed area where a dog or other pet is visibly present.

Question 7

How do I schedule a service appointment?

Accepted Answer

To ensure personal service, please call our local team directly at (310) 370-0963 for all scheduling and inquiries.

Question 8

How often do you come out?

Accepted Answer

While we offer various plans, monthly or bi-monthly services are most effective in ensuring consistent protection against the specific pests prevalent in Southern California.

Question 9

How long does a treatment take?

Accepted Answer

Your first visit includes both an inspection and initial treatment, and most appointments wrap up in under an hour. During this time, your technician will conduct a thorough walkthrough of your home and property to evaluate the specific conditions and tailor a treatment plan to what your situation calls for. Ongoing maintenance visits are more streamlined — most can be completed in 30 minutes or less.

Question 10

What is the benefit of recurring treatments vs one-time treatments?

Accepted Answer

A single pest treatment can knock down activity in the short term, but populations naturally rebound as the residual effect wears off. This is particularly true for vegetation — plants keep growing, constantly producing new, untreated surface area that leaves lawns and greenery vulnerable again. For outdoor spaces, recurring service is the most effective way to stay ahead of pest pressure and maintain consistent protection.

Some surfaces hold up better than others. Hard, non-porous materials and protected areas like cracks and crevices can extend the life of a treatment, though UV exposure will break down even the most durable applications over time. Treatments applied directly to the structure of your home tend to have the longest residual, but their reach doesn't extend far into the yard — within a few weeks of a single application, outdoor pest activity is largely on its own again.

Question 11

What does a typical treatment include?

Accepted Answer

A recurring service includes a perimeter treatment and an inspection for any changes that warrant additional action. Additional options are available for dewebbing, rodent proofing and trapping, and mosquito control. A one-time treatment includes an inspection to diagnose the issue at hand and a specialized treatment as agreed upon.

Question 12

Do I need to be out of the home during or after my appointment?

Accepted Answer

For recurring exterior services you do not need to vacate your home, but you and any pets should avoid the outdoor treated area until it dries — roughly 3 hours. For interior treatment, you will need to stay out of the treated area until the product dries, also roughly 3 hours.

Question 13

Why am I still seeing pests after my first treatment?

Accepted Answer

Seeing some pest activity after a treatment is completely normal, and how quickly results show up depends on a few factors — including the type of pest, the treatment approach used, and where the pest is in its life cycle. Eggs and larvae, for example, are often unaffected by treatments targeting adults, which is why some products are designed to work in stages over time.

Your technician will walk you through what to expect as part of your diagnostic and treatment plan, including a realistic timeline for when you should start seeing a reduction in activity. Some treatments work within a day or two, while others — particularly those targeting breeding cycles or colonies — are designed to work more gradually for longer-lasting results.

If you're seeing activity beyond the window your technician outlined, we encourage you to reach out. We stand behind our work and will assess whether a follow-up visit or adjustment to your treatment plan is needed.

Question 14

I'm not satisfied with the results of my treatment - what are my options?

Accepted Answer

Your peace of mind is our priority. On a recurring plan, if you see pests between scheduled visits, we will return for free to resolve the issue.

Question 15

Do you treat attics and crawl spaces?

Accepted Answer

Yes — pests often live in these harder-to-reach areas, and we treat them if doing so is necessary for the service. For safety reasons, our technicians will access attics only when they have fully finished flooring throughout, and crawl spaces when the clearance is 5 feet or greater. Where neither condition is met, your technician will treat the area by reaching in from the access point rather than entering the space directly.

Question 16

How does pricing work?

Accepted Answer

Our pricing is transparent and based on the square footage of your home and the specific pests being targeted. We provide honest, upfront quotes after a brief consultation.

Question 17

What forms of payment do you take?

Accepted Answer

We accept all major credit cards, debit cards, checks, and ACH payments.

Question 18

When am I charged for treatment?

Accepted Answer

Billing typically occurs at the time of service completion. For recurring plans, we offer convenient auto-pay options for seamless protection. Fumigations require a 50% deposit ahead of the fumigation.
